Con un po’ di ritardo, ma con grande soddisfazione per i suoi contenuti, pubblichiamo il catalogo della 50esima edizione del Fotogramma d’Oro Short Film Festival 2018.
Questo catalogo, in formato elettronico, costituisce il risultato del lavoro che una piccola squadra di volontari appassionati di cinema, di quello breve in particolare, ha svolto per fornire agli spettatori e ai cinefili informazioni necessarie per la fruizione degli eventi programmati all’interno del Festival.
Il catalogo contiene le schede delle 90 su 244 opere che hanno superato la pre-selezione, nonché quelle relative alla retrospettiva e quelle fuori concorso.
L’edizione 2018, la terza messinese, ha ospitato anche numerosi ed interessanti Eventi Speciali.
In prosecuzione della consuetudine ormai consolidata di dedicare il Festival ad un personaggio della cultura messinese ormai scomparso, l’edizione 2018 è stata dedicata all’attore e regista messinese Tano Cimarosa, nel decimo anniversario della sua scomparsa. Le edizioni 2016 e 2017 sono state dedicate, rispettivamente, al prof. Giuseppe Cavarra (scomparso nel 2012) e alla poetessa Maria Costa, che ci ha lasciati nel 2016.
Secondo Evento Speciale è stato la retrospettiva dedicata al regista bolognese Mauro Mingardi. Nel catalogo abbiamo riportato le schede dei corti che sono stati proiettati nel corso del Festival selezionati da Marzia Toscano la quale, insieme a Davide Rizzo, ha realizzato un documentario biografico su Mingardi intitolato “Un western senza cavalli”, anche quest’ultimo è stato proiettato durante il Festival.
Altro Evento Speciale è stato il Premio alla carriera assegnato all’attore messinese Maurizio Marchetti, il quale, oltre ad essere l’Ospite d’Onore dell’edizione odierna del Festival, è stato il presidente della Giuria. L’evento è stato organizzato nell’ambito dei festeggiamenti per il 60esimo anniversario della fondazione della Federazione.
“FOTOGRAMMI – Mostra pittorica e grafica ispirata a locandine di film” è l’altro evento speciale del Festival caratterizzato per la sua originalità. Alla mostra, allestita nei locali espositivi del Cinema Multisala Apollo, hanno aderito numerosi artisti messinesi che hanno contribuito con le loro opere a dare valore e prestigio alla mostra stessa.
Per finire, una Giuria composta da studenti che frequentano i corsi di laurea afferenti al Dipartimento di Scienze Cognitive, Psicologiche, Pedagogiche e degli Studi Culturali dell’Ateneo di Messina, nei giorni in cui si è svolto il Festival, hanno valutato le opere in concorso ed hanno assegnato, a quella giudicata da loro meritevole, il Premio Speciale “Fotogramma d’Oro Campus” (nella foto in alto).

With a little delay, but with great satisfaction for its contents, we publish the catalog of the 50th edition of the Fotogramma Short Film Festival 2018.
This catalog, in electronic format, is the result of the work that a small team of volunteers passionate about short film in particular, has done to provide viewers and cinephiles with information necessary for the use of events scheduled within the Festival .
The catalog contains the cards of the 90 out of 244 short film that have passed the pre-selection, as well as those relating to the retrospective and those out of competition.
The 2018 edition, the third Messina, has also hosted numerous and interesting Special Events.
In continuation of the established tradition of dedicating the Festival to a character of the culture of Messina now gone, the 2018 edition was dedicated to the actor and director of Messina Tano Cimarosa, on the tenth anniversary of his death. The 2016 and 2017 editions were dedicated, respectively, to prof. Giuseppe Cavarra (who died in 2012) and the poet Maria Costa, who left us in 2016.
The second Special Event was the retrospective dedicated to Mauro Mingardi. In the catalog we have reported the cards of the shorts that were shown during the Festival selected by Marzia Toscano who, together with Davide Rizzo, made a biographical documentary on Mingardi entitled “A Western without horses”, the latter was also projected during the Festival.
Other Special Event was the Premio alla Carriera assigned to the Messina actor Maurizio Marchetti, who, besides being the Guest of 2018 edition of the Festival, was the president of the Jury. The event was organized as part of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Federazione Nazionale Cinevideoautori.
“FOTOGRAMMI – Mostra pittorica e grafica ispirata a locandine di film” is the other Special event of the Festival characterized for its originality. At the exhibition, set up at Cinema Multisala Apollo, seat of the Festival, have joined many artists from Messina who have contributed with their works to give value and prestige to the exhibition itself.
Finally, a jury composed of students attending the degree courses belonging to the Department of Cognitive, Psychological, Pedagogical and Cultural Studies of the University of Messina, in the days when the Festival was held, evaluated the shot films in competition and assigned to the one judged by them deserving, the Special Prize “Fotogramma d’Oro Campus” (pictured above).
